Due to an overwhelming expression of interest from players who wish to play in our U14 Division 1 team (coach TBA), and due to the U14 try-outs for previous seasons being so successful, we have decided to again hold try-outs to ensure a fair opportunity to everyone who might be interested in joining our top-graded U14 team.
Try-outs are open to all existing and aspiring Warriors U14 Boys players. This applies to all boys currently eligible to play U14 for the upcoming summer season (ie. born 2013 and 2014). Kids who might wish to explore the possibility of joining the Warriors from another club or association are also very welcome to attend.
Anyone who has an interest in furthering their basketball and/or has an eye on playing at representative level is strongly recommended to seize this opportunity. Please note that U14 division 1 (and division 2) are strong competitions, and only the keenest players will thrive in these divisions. Kids who play these divisions are usually current or aspiring representative players, and are also the sort of kid that regularly takes their ball to school, practices in their free time, and is likely hassling you to attend various clinics that are on offer for the super-keen basketballer.
Note that all spots on these teams are up for selection. Myself along side several of our experienced coaches will be grading the kids' skills and team play, and we will collaborate in putting together the best possible team from the available players.
Should there be sufficient interest and skills on show, a "number 2" Warriors selection based team could also be put together from the attendees.
The ultimate grading of team(s) that eventuate from this selection process will be determined by the regular grading process, however the #1 team will initially be targeting division 1 or 2, and a #2 team (should it eventuate) will initially aim for one division lower.
Note that spots in our selection-based team(s) are up for re-selection every season, so kids who miss out are strongly encouraged to keep practicing, attend additional training sessions and clinics held by the CBA or MU, and try again next season.
