As of season Winter 2019, the CBA domestic competition will be moving to electronic (laptop-based) scoring. This brings with it both opportunities and challenges.
The good part is that game results, ladders, and game stats should be available online much sooner after each round completes.
The challenge is learning the new system, as well as ensuring that all our information is maintained and up-to-date. Specifically, team lists, player names and singlet numbers MUST be correctly stored in SportsTG (which is where the stadium scoring system gets its information from).
While it is possible to update player names/numbers on game day, it is a time consuming process, and the game schedule (45 minutes) remains fixed. Starting round 1 (ie. after grading), the CBA will enforce "late-start" penalties (1 point per minute) for teams where the game start is delayed due to information not being correct.
Because of this, it is imperative that changes to team rosters or singlet numbers, or any errors in the online data, are notified to either the Club President or the Club Registrar as soon as possible.
Please see below for a short video introduction into the electronic scoring system. Hopefully it'll make game-day scoring simpler for all.
